Mondays' Music Moves me, my name is???

When Christmas Dolly announced the challenge for this weeks Mondays' Music, I just about jumped out of my skin.  I mean that there are so many wonderful possibilities for this, I just was beside myself, so was I.

So let's start off with one of my favorite singers who came onto the scene in 1986 and has been a steady force ever since.  Here is Suzanne Vega with one of her top songs.  Can you guess which one?

What a haunting song and such a quiet yet powerful voice.  I had forgotten how gentle this song seamed in the live version, it has been so long ago.  Do you remember the first time you heard this song?

Next up it's something completely different.

I was 15 when I first heard this song on the radio.  Being 15 I had no idea what this song meant to me, it was just a cool song by a new singer by the name of Barry Manilow.
It wouldn't be until I was in my early 40's that I would understand this song.  What does this song mean to you?

Next up a special song.

I was 8 years old when I first heard this song,my older brother Groffrey brought this album home and put it on for my dad to hear this song.  My father was a musician and immediately thought, what a great song, I will do an arrangement .  So this song by Richard Harris has two memories associated with it.
I always remember my father in the den of our house at the piano working so hard on writing an arrangement of MacArthur Park.  This song is for my father.  What memories do you have about this song?

Here's my last song and this one goes out to my wife.
Yep, Paul MacCartney and the Beatles singing Michelle.  This one is for my wife, because I love her.  Funny thing is, I knew from the time I was in high school I would marry someone named Michelle. What does this song mean to you?

That's it for this time.  Til next Monday, this is me signing off.
