Pushing the limit
Since the middle of 2010, both I and my wife have not been able to work out, this due to our membership being too expensive and not having the funds we needed.
So because of this we both gained back all the weight we had lost. Me I had got down to185 and was losing, my goal was 135. I am over 200lbs again, clothing that fit now I struggle to wear and currently being unemployed, I have no funds to really go to a gym or get new clothing.
So, two nights ago, my wife, my son in law, and I began to walk around the local high school football field and running track.
My first night I managed a mile and a half and was worn out, so much so, that I went to sleep half an hour after getting home and forgot to make a phone call to a friend.
Last night, January 6th, I doubled what I did the first night, I managed to walk three miles. For me, this is a major accomplishment. I know that walking is just the first step, and that I need to get some weight training and lower body exercises in as well, but this is the beginning.

The Display is Up
Yesterday, January 5th, my wife and I went down to the Windsor Public Library and set up my model display. This was something that I had wanted to do, since I was about twenty years old and never was able to do, until yesterday.
The hard part, was not the building of the models, this was relatively easy. No the hard part for me, was developing the bullet points and labeling the models.
I know some of you are reading this and thinking, what?
My problem was that I had never done a display before, and especially never at a public library, so I had no idea of what to put out for bullet points, or for that matter, the best way to label the models.
Finally, I was able to work this through, with the help of a very patient wife, and the wonderful staff at the Windsor Public Library.
One thing I was finally able to do, was hang some of my models using fishing line, this brought to life some of the models and made the display less static.
Besides the great models, there are some great books as well about the battles that the aircraft were involved in.
One that is a personal favorite is "Red Tail Angels", the book chronicles the history of the Tuskegee Airmen and how they gained a reputation of never losing a bomber when they flew escort. The Tuskegee Airmen were an all African American squadron, that overcame not only the enemy, but racism and were one of the most decorated squadrons of World War Two.
So if you happen to have nothing scheduled between January 5th and February 4th stop by at the Windsor Library and check out the display, while you check out a book or five.
The Library is located at 7479 Metropolitan Blvd. in Barnhart Missouri. The Library is open Monday-Thursday 9:A.M.-9;P.M. Friday Hours are 9:A.M.-6:P.M. and Saturday 9:A.M.-5:P.M.
So, stop by and take a look, if you're lucky I may be there and I can answer questions about the models or model building.

An Amazing Series on U.S.A.
I have been a fan of spy shows, since I was a little kid and saw "Get Smart" the first time. Granted this was a satire, but it was the first television series that I saw about spies.
The Series that for a long time was my all time favorite was "MISSION IMPOSSIBLE", this show was amazing, although near the middle, it focused more on special affects than good complex stories.
Finally, I have found a series that has the high tension of "Mission Impossible", and great stories and Characters, the show "Burn Notice" This series began in 2007, but I discovered it just last year.
The series focuses on Michael Westen, a Spy who was Burned, in other words, he has been cut off from the agency, or disavowed. He is not recognized by the CIA and has no background, and must rely on his skills and the few friends and family members to survive.
What makes me love this series is that it has a sense of reality that many spy series lack, Michael narates the episodes explaining about the life of a spy, and h tow one must constantly be able to adapt to unusual situations that arise.
There is a feeling that the writer of this series was a spy because of the narrative. This why I love this series, this and the very complex relationships that weave together both Michael and his friends, and the people michael works for or against.
"Burn Notice" keeps you on the edge of your seat, and at times things go wrong, and you sit breathlessly wondering, how will they get out of this mess?
Right now the series is running reruns, which are woth viewing, because you will be totally blown away by the past and the set up for next summer's return of the series. So if you like spy shows, you will love "Burn Notice" Just be careful, too much Burn Notice, may lead to sun burns...

An Epiphany...
Last night, Thursday, December 29th, I was watching "Burn Notice" A very well done spy drama on USA network. Suddenly my mother in law enters the living room and she is confused at what time it is, and is also talking about several dream she had.
We begin to discuss how she felt a spiritual urgency come over her after awakening, for my mother in law this has significance, because she is very highly attuned to changes spiritually and in the energy around her.
She had gone to bed with Sandalwood incense burning and listening to one of three new Cd's she had purchased that same day.
Now prior to my mother in law awakening, I had been in my man cave talking with a friend in Colorado, he is a mystic who has come across a new technique to help cleanse ones' energy and to move forward. We had done an experiment where I had basically filled myself with energy and expanded it through the house we live in, then through the state I currently live in,
When my mother in law awoke, she was aware of the energy. I had her do the same experiment, and she too was able to see herself expanding the energy through out the state we live in.
We discussed how there are no coincidences in spirituality, and when something like this happens there is a reason.
We continued to talk of how the veils that have suffocated many spirituality and in trusting their own abilities are being torn down, as Christ torn down the temple in his day.
Then we listened to the second CD that she had bought and the first song again fit into the pattern of what was happening around us.
I am an eclectic person, I travel many paths when it comes down to spirituality, yet last night was one for the record books. I called back my friend in Colorado in the midst of this, and told him to focus more on what he had started, then I allowed him to talk with my mother in law, my friend is a person who has practiced Buddhism for the better part of his life, my mother in law, is a Roman Catholic Woman Priest, and I am as I said an eclectic who travels many paths at one time.
What happened was an Epiphany last night, and honestly I feel it was a beginning of a much larger transformation that will only expand once the new year has arrived.
