Nearly Wordless Wednesday Deception of the eye

Yesterday I went to the Aurora Central Library, while I was approaching the library I noticed that the tract of land across the way had suddenly blossomed with greenery.  This area is nothing but sand, in other words a desert.

I decided to ask someone inside the library, to see if they knew if anyone had reseeded the land?  As far as the librarian knew, no one had... and yet she too had noticed the sudden greenery as well.

I decided after I was done at the library to check things out, and this is what I discovered.

Something was wrong.  There were splotches of open desert amoing
the greenery.

I took a closer look and the truth was before me.  Not grass, nope but instead...

Weeds.  Nothing but weeds, at least in the area I was walking.  Oh there may have been one or two blades of grass, but this was the exception, not the rule.

Just goes to prove, you can never trust what you are seeing, your eyes can deceive you.  Old proverb proven true, this past Monday, May 13th, 2013.

  1. Very weird! It is possible that someone did re-seed the land. After all, it is for sale. I cannot see the gophers will like that for very long though.

  2. Mother Nature has a way of taking care of herself I guess. Everything happens for a reason I'm sure. We just have to find out the reason! Have a great day!

  3. Being in a desert myself, the land may have had just the right amount of rain this year for the weeds to start growing. If we get enough rain, we get a pasture of rice grass around our home.
