Took these, Sunday, January 23rd, in Manitou Springs, Colorado.  These are all photos of Pikes Peak, which was set off with an orange glow.  I walked up a mountain path away from the main city and discovered these great shots of Pikes Peak.  Taken with a Polaroid Digital Camera and Duracell Batteries.

A Friendly tip

In my job I hera  a great many answering machine messages,  many are either business messages or the standard adult "leave a message... which are fine.

However there are many that are voiced by children, now I know many parents think that their children are the greatest thing in the world; however when a child says "Mommy and Daddy aren't here, leave a message"  it can end up sounding un-professional, especially if the child goes all over the place in saying this.

You never know who many be calling after all: it could be a friend, family member, or potential employer.  If it is a potential employer, depending on the content of the message, this could prevent you from getting that job you need.

Remember that answering machines are heard by all kinds of people, employers, social services, police officers, and criminals all call for one reason or another.  If a child is the voice of the answering machine, or answers the phone, then you could have all kinds of consequences that were not expected.

Answering machine messages, should be straight forward and to the point, unless you are past the point of working, then you can be creative as you want.

Just a friendly tip, from someone who has learned the lesson the hard way.

Up in the air

Sometimes life moves so rapidly that we forget to breathe.  We get caught up in events, that seem larger than our lives and we feel small and powerless.

Sometimes, we beging to move forward that we forget to look at where we have been, and what life has given us.

I am on the fringe of a new beginning, my wife and I will be moving to Missouri, before the year is over.  This is a huge event and one that is becoming more and more tangable all the time.

In recent weeks I have been so focused on this, that I have forgotten some of what makes Colorado special, and has made my life special.

Here are a few things that have been events in my life, some wonderful, some tragic and yet they have been things that I am thankful for and will treasure as I prepare for this new part of my life at 50 and now almost 51.
I have always felt a great sense of loss for this nation because of President Kennedy's death, and still feel this way today.

One small step.  I watched with baited breath when I was 9  years old.

Kept seeing this photo in my head the past few days, so I took it this morning.  This features two of my 1/72ndsale models that I built last year.  I cropped the photo and adjusted the saturatin and conrast at Picnik and added frames.

The models featured are the MPC Junkers 52 tri-motor tansport and the Airfix Junkers 87 Dive bomber.
