Mondays' Music Moves Me

I know this is later than expected, however I have arrived with a special Monday's Music Moves Me.

I may have done this 4 M before, however it for me is one worth revisiting.

When I grew up in Denver, I listr\ed to one radio station a great deal of time. that station was KVOD, the Voice of Denver.

KVOD was owned by John Dunn and Gene Amole and was the local classical music outlet for the Denver metro area.

Now Gene Amole was of the belief that Classical music was fun.  So every Friday live from Ruby Hill he would do the Friday Waltz.

Now this wasn't just putting on a piece by Tchaikovsky or Strauss or any of the other great composers, it was the telling of a story.

So relax and just imagine, you are in Vienna, it is at the castle of Count Frederich Von Munster.  The wommen are dressed in elegent gowns of violet and purple and pink, the men are dressed in deep pursian blue with gold or red trim.  All are wearing the powdered wigs.  There are chandaliers with candle light hanging from the ceiling and then a tall man with a full beard taps a wine glass.

Everyone looks at this man, he smiles and nods his head to the musicians in a corner and they begin to play Tchaikovsky's Waltz of the Flowers, the men and women come together in couples and begin to dance.

And now for something completely different, a wonderful piece dedicated to my wife.  Mr. Billy Joel, "She got a way about her."

  2. How beautiful! I haven't heard that piece in like forever. Talk about turning up my speakers! Great choice my friend! I could just see all the little fairies hopping around! Didn't they make some Disney Cartoon with this music behind it? For the life of me I can't think of the name! Anyway, you are such a romanticist! Michelle is such a sweet girl! You better treat her really sweet like you are... don't make me come down there now!!! ~snicker-snicker~ YOU ROCK, DUDE~
