Nahum: Authored the book of Nahum which foretold the downfall of Nineveh.

Naomi: The mother in law of Ruth.  When Naomi's husband died, she took on the name Mara.

Nebuchadnezzar: Two kings of Babylon shared this name, one in the 12th Century B.C. and one in the 6th Century B.C.

Nimrod:  A great hunter, he was also the great grandson of Noah and the founder of Babylon.

Madai: In The Old Testament, he was a son of Japheth, he was an ancestor to the Medes, an ancient people related to the Persians.

Magdalene: Mary Magdalene, so named because she was from the community of Magdala.  She was cleansed of evil spirits by Jesus, and she became one of his disciples.  She witnessed his crucifixion and resurrection.


Malachi: One of the 12 minor prophets of the Old Testament.  The book of Malachi is said to foretell the coming of Jesus.


Manasseh: Name of the oldest son of Joseph, in the Old Testament and an ancestor to one of the 12 tribes of Israel.


Mark: Disciple to Jesus, wrote the second Gospel.


Martha: She is the sister of Lazarus and Mary of Bethany.

Laban: In the Old Testament this was the name  of the Father of Rachel and Leah.

Lazarus: The man from Bethany who Jesus brought back to life.


Leah: First wife of Jacob and mother of 7 of his children.


Levi: Third Son of Jacob and Leah. 


Lois: In The New Testament she is the Mother of Eunice and Grand mother of Timothy.


Lot: The nephew of Abraham, he was directed to flee the city of Sodom before its' destruction. He was told  not look back; his wife did and she was turned to a pillar of salt.
Abraham and Lot go their separate way.

Luke: A Doctor who traveled with Paul and wrote the third Gospel and Acts.

I am putting a header this time.  There are numerous J's in the Bible, and in all honesty I could spend three blogs trying to list them and define them.

Jacob: is the son of Isaac and Rebecca, he is the father of those who would be the founders of the twelve tribes of Israel, and he was also called Israel.


Jael: Name of  a woman who kills the Captain of the Canaanite Army, thus giving the victory to Israel.

Jarius: New Testament.  Name of the father of a young girl whom had died and was resurrected by Jesus.


Japheth: One of Noah's three sons.  Ancestor to the Peoples of Europe and Northern Asia.

Jeddah: Name of the wife of King Amon and the mother of Joshiah.  No image available.

Jehoichin: Name of the King of Judah who was Imprisoned in Babylon by King Nebuchneezer .

Jesus:  Son of God, he who took away our sins and gave us new life and teaches peace.  He who was the Lamb of God.

Something Special for my Wife and Best Friend

It has been a while since I posted music, especially for perhaps one of the most significant people in my life, my wife and best friend Michelle.
