Mondays' Music Moves Me, in the good old Summer time

Music of Summer.  Well this first song says it all in a way, and what a great singer and arrangement.  In the Good Old Summer time, featuring Nat King Cole

This one I have heard in bits and pieces over the years, mainly in period movies like American Graffiti and Stand By Me.  still it is a classic summertime song

And now as they say on the other side of the pond, for something completely different     IT'S....

I had originally intended to do a vocal on this song, then I decided to find a reference to a television show I grew up watching as a child and into my early adult life   The show was THE LAWRENCE WELK SHOW, and it always aired locally here in Colorado on Saturday nights.  This is their instrumental arrangement of SUMMERTIME, from Porgy and Bess.  Great Jazz arrangement.  Now a One ah and a two ah...

This next one doesn't fit the theme precisely but I had to include it.  In 1986 when I was in Las Vegas, I saw a movie that launched several careers and  came out that summer.  This song was the title of the movie and was used in the film as the end title.  This is a new arrangement by one of my favorite singers and I didn;t even know he had done this song.  So take it away SEAL.

So there you have my summer music.

Til next time

Okay one last piece, this is for my wife, it has nothing to do with this theme,,,

  2. Great bunch of hits! Since I have the Nat King Cole on my computer's play list, it's a great song. But the Summertime Summertime song is one that I need to get. Have a great week!

  3. My apologies to everyone before. I had pasted a video from the Lawrence Welk Show thinking it was Summertime from Porgy and Bess. I did not know I had posted the wrong video. Please come back and listen to a very good arrangement by Pete Fountain of Summertime.
