Brood X was Michael Phillip Cashes first book from nearly 1 year ago, which I just read in the last two and a half weeks.
It is a fast paced terror novel that has that scary aspect that this could happen tomorrow.
The story takes place when evil vile disgusting Cicadas' overwhelm the east coast.
What makes Brood X so powerful though are the array of complex characters that populate the book, from the Ambulance Driver who brings a Video camera with a recording of the chain of events which unfold through the recordings of Seth and Lara.
The characters are very believable and even if you are not like one of the characters in the story you probably know someone like them.
This is a page turner and will have you holding your breath as the story progresses and the Cicada invasion finally descends on Seth and Lara, and when things are bad they get worse with two friends who never understand the hint to leave.
You will not be able to put this book down and you will not believe how fast a read it is.
