The Shadow of Atlantis A gripping book

Yesterday, Sunday July 13th I finished reading another great book!

This was The Shadow of Atlantis by Wendy Leighton Porter, the first in a series of books, where three children Joe and Jemima ten year old twins and their friend from next door, Charlie end up in a series of adventures that take them and their talking cat, Max to different periods in time.

The first book The Shadow of Atlantis takes place after Joe and Jemima's parents vanish mysteriously.  The twins are staying with their uncle Richard, who does not know what to do with them, since he has never had children.

While exploring the attic of their uncles house, Joe ,  Jemima and Charlie discover a box with a large book in it.  The box will not open until Jemima finds a locket on the floor which has the key to the book attached.

They  solve a mysteirous anagram and the adventure begins as the  book opens a porthole to the lost city of Atlantis.

And it is here where they discover that their parents are alive but no where in the continent of Atlantis.

They are fighting time, for they know that the continent will be destroyed.  Will they be able to help save the people of this continent?  Will they find where their parents are?  Most importantly will they be able to return to their own time before Atlantis is destroyed?

To find out you have to read the book.

Five Stars.
