D-Day June 6th 1944 in Pictures Part 2 Transport Gliders and Eisenhower

From  Eisenhowers last minute briefing to the brave Soldiers about to parachute into enemy lines. to the tragedy of too many gliders that crashed behind the lines, these are images of a different air campaign that took place on the eve of D-day.

The transports and gliders had no protection from anti aircraft fire, and many were shot down without their soldiers reaching their target areas.
