D is for...

Damaris: New Testament.  A woman converted to Christianity  by Paul.


Daniel: Interpreted the King of Babylon's dreams, lived in Babylon during the time it was occupied.  Also wrote four visions of the end of the world.


Darius: Name of three kings of Persia including Darius the Great who invaded Greece and was defeated at the battle of Marathon.

Dathan: Name of one of the conspirators against Moses.


David: 2nd and greatest King of Israel, he ruled in the 10th century B.C.  He is famous for his defeat of the Philistine Giant Goliath. Was originally the trusted confident of Saul the first King of Israel, before Saul became possessed with anger and set out to kill David.


Delilah: Samson's lover who betrayed him to the Philistines by cutting off his hair, the source of Samson's power.

Samson and Delilah  -  Sampson had extraordinary strength...as long as he allowed nowone to cut his hair...deceitful temptress Delilah eventually ferreted out his secret and used it to bring him down.: Dinah: Daughter of Jacob and Leah.

Dionysius: Dionysius the Areopagite, was a judge converted to Christianity by Paul.
